Indian SummerAnother gorgeous day in Paradise—perfect for Floyd’s golf game with his daughter, with his granddaughter caddying. We all went out to lunch afterwards. The weather was excellent. I had a swim later in the afternoon with sun shining on the pool through the glass. Mornings and evenings are a bit chilly, but most of the days have been beautiful. It’s great to soak up some of this sun and save it for winter—coming soon. My son and daughter-in-law should be arriving home from their week’s vacation in Hawaii right about now. They expected to be rained on the last few days they were there, but I haven’t heard if that happened. The rain there is usually warm enough not to ruin the sightseeing, anyway. It’s tough to chain myself to the computer and edit stories when it’s so nice outside and I know the good weather won’t last indefinitely. The convection toaster oven I thought I’d bought about a year ago had a knob break off so I’ve had to turn the timer with the pliers—not very convenient. When I looked up the paperwork, it turns out it’s three years old so the warranty is long gone. On line, the company advises it’s no longer being sold, but there is a phone number to call about parts. Since the company is on the East Coast, it was too late to call them when I found the number this afternoon, so I’ll give it a shot on Monday. There’s a new convection rotisserie oven on sale right now, that’s tempting me, if I can’t get the part for this one. |
