Deja Vu All Over Again

I found the account I wrote of the trip to Ireland in October 1998—twenty double-space pages culled from the journal I kept while traveling. Reading through it was almost as much fun as being there in the first place. Ireland was the last barbecue I assisted with shortly before the end of the relationship with the barbecue champion. Approximately four years of touring the competitive barbecue circuit had not been kind to my waistline, which has still not fully recovered.

I’m really tired tonight. After my usual swim/exercise routine, I had lunch and a short rest, then went out and worked on the deck. I set up the plant rack the neighbors who are moving out of state gave me and arranged a few plants on it that I’m sure will not break the glass shelves with their weight. We brought in the umbrella and battened down the outdoor furniture for the winter.

Tomorrow should be more restful and maybe I’ll get some writing done and catch up on reading the newspapers
