Adios Mexico

I have had several wonderful vacations in Mexico. The climate is fantastic, the scenery beautiful and the manana philosophy very relaxing. Luxurious resorts provide all kinds of recreation. Bringing home reasonably priced and delicious Vanilla was a plus. I’m still using some from a large bottle I bought on my last trip.

There are writing conferences there that are very tempting. However, unless I become suicidal, I probably won’t go there again. Too many people have been murdered or arrested on trumped up charges and held in terrible circumstances.

It seems to me it would behoove the Mexican government to improve crime control before they lose more of their tourist business. That probably sounds naïve, but I am aware they have a lot of problems with graft, drugs and grinding poverty.
