Time Waits for No One, Certainly Not For Me

The fair weather swimmers are finding their way to the pool now, so I have company occasionally when I swim. The water was very warm today for a delightful swim.

This is one of those days, and I have too many of them, when I sit down in the evening and try to figure out how I used up all those hours that loomed ahead when I got out of bed. It’s amazing how much time it takes to do a little dab of this and a little bit of that. Swimming, shopping, answering email, printing and studying the itinerary and map for the coming cruise, and reading the newspaper filled up most of my day.

It’s been several years since I’ve had a paper to read every day. I didn’t subscribe; Al did. My obsessive-compulsive nature forces me to read them all. Sometimes I’m still working on Monday or Tuesday by Thursday or Friday. Almost always I have leftover sections of Sunday’s paper on Monday morning.

Finally, I have a few hours to get some writing tasks done. Sometimes front burner activities get pushed to the back and create stress. Among many other things I formerly handled better when I was younger, stress stands out. Time to get with it.
