Editing, Errands and Deadheading

Today was a mixed bag of editing, errands and fussing with flowers. That is, after I finished drying and folding bedding. Blankets dried outdoors smell so wonderful. We don’t have clotheslines, so we use a folding rack.

One of the members of the critique group I am part of is an excellent editor. She worked on one of my memoir stories last week and I’m using many of her suggestions. I’m appalled at how careless I’ve become with my writing recently. It could be because of writing these very informal blog entries every day, or perhaps it’s just a result of aging—a disgusting thought.

My errands involved picking up prescriptions and last minute toiletry items for our trip, as well as a few food items.

Trying to deal with other last minute loose ends by phone is frustrating. No one wants to call back on a Friday if they might have to answer a tough question, or any question at all, for that matter. I did get one call back while I was here; another came while I was out, so I didn’t get that answer.

For a bit of exercise and distraction I deadheaded flowers around the yard. I still have the climbing pink rose to attack tomorrow.

And now, back to my editing.
