Resting My Feet

Early afternoon on Thursday and, although I slept late, I’m slowing down early. Yesterday I started about 7:00 a.m. and worked late and got a lot done. But getting that much accomplished two days in a row doesn’t seem practical or even possible. Especially when I wasn’t out of bed until about 9:00 today.

Getting clear spaces here and there and stashing empty boxes is motivating and we can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of attic space, so we don’t have to rush into tossing things we might want later.

In 77 years, I don’t remember ever having lavender sheets, so I bought myself a set for a housewarming present today. I’m tossing clothes over both shoulders, into boxes for Goodwill. I should have done more of that before we moved them. Al shocked me when he brought my clothes over by announcing that he’d measured and there were 11 feet of them in the closets.

Today I was thinking about my dad, who’s been gone for more than twenty years. His favorite Elmer’s pancake restaurants serve alcohol and cater to gamblers now. I’m quite sure I know how he would feel about that.

It feels like ages since I’ve done any writing. I hope to get back to that soon.
