(Un)Happy Saturday MorningThis morning I arose happy that we were finally getting things straightened around so that we can find most things we need and move around without falling over boxes. I decided to dry a load of wash early and put the clothes in the dryer. I turned it on; it ran for about three seconds, then shut itself off. I tried to turn it on again with no luck. I assumed it had tripped the circuit breaker. So I waited for Al to get up. The circuit breaker had not tripped. On my first trip to the bathroom, I discovered a rug dripping with water. The toilet was leaking again. A closet door was still hanging askew and my frame of mind was getting darker. It is now nearly 10:00 p.m. and I finally am back at the computer to finish this tale. Our day got better as it went along. The maintenance man came and declared the toilet dead. A replacement will be installed Monday. He also fixed the closet door and gave me some advice about the dryer problem. During the afternoon, Al took many loads of stuff up to the attic and I put about 20 boxes of books into bookcases. In the late afternoon, my cousin called and invited us to meet him and his wife for dinner near here. We begged off and invited them to come see our place. We had a short, but very enjoyable visit with them before they headed back to Scappoose.
