Getting Settled

I’m enjoying my new home more every day. There is so much activity all around during the day, and even some in the evenings. The people I encounter in the swimming pool and the library, or other public places, are extremely friendly and helpful.

If I ever get totally unpacked and have everything arranged to my satisfaction, I’m looking forward to hours of writing and possibly even more hours of loafing in the library or on the deck or in one of the swimming pools.

My mind vacillates about installing air conditioning. I think I’ll try to wing it with fans and save the cost of a unit and the electricity. I’ll let you know the next day it’s 100 or over how that works out. We’ve had some nice temperate weather lately. I just noticed the half moon peeking in my window.

I’m also looking forward to using the fireplace in the winter. I can set up my laptop in front of it and enjoy a fire.

A number of my houseplants are unhappy in their new home. It turned very hot right after we got here and I was too busy to keep dousing them with water. One or two may not recover, but there are too many of them anyway.

We are all gradually getting settled in.
