Spring Trip Journals

As of this moment, all the travel log entries covering our latest trip have been posted to my website Travel Logs page. The most recent are under the Archives section. Due to an idiosyncrasy of my website software, the dates indicate that the last ones were posted first. Not so, but confusing.

My webmaster advised me today that he will soon be moving my website to new software that may be more user friendly for this old head. So I’ll be thinking about changes we want to make when the switchover occurs.

Apropos of travel, I’ll be leaving for Chico, California on the 12th of April for a five-day visit with my three sisters, and other relatives. I may or may not have an opportunity to post to the blog during that time. My niece’s computer will be available for my use, but time may be at a premium. There are many things we want to do and see in the town of my birth while we are there.

It was a gorgeous summer-like day in Portland. I did a little “yard” work. That is, I cultivated the soil in the planter tubs around our porch and on our balcony. I’m dying to plant more flowers, but they’d have to be watered while I’m gone, so I’ll wait until I get back. I have a daffodil or two and some primroses blooming here and there, but otherwise the view is pretty bare.

I also spent some time arranging toiletry items in a transparent container in accordance with what I understand the airport security rules to be. I hope to have better luck this short trip than on the longer one to Florida. However, Portland airport security personnel were the most strict and most friendly and helpful we encountered and I’m not sorry about that. I’m happy to know they are as conscientious as possible.

Next I need to figure out how to get the clothes I need into one suitcase and a tote bag. It should be easy, since I’ve done it so often, but my memory fails me at times.
