InspirationAs I returned from an errand and walked from my car to the door, I heard geese overhead. I looked up to see them change direction and formation, apparently flying toward Lake Oswego. I don’t often get to see them in the winter, since I’m inside so much. Sometimes in the summer if I swim morning and evening, I see them going both directions high above the pool in our park. I love their sounds as well as the graceful angles of their flight. I guess they want to remind me that, if creatures as beautiful as they are must work hard every day to make a living, then I should get to work, also. In this new year, I’m striving for balance. Chiropractic adjustments and physical therapy will, I hope, push my bones back where they belong. Restoring missing muscle tone is my job and I’ve started exercises for that purpose. For the last several years, I’ve gradually leaned toward eating more healthily, but my sweet tooth hasn’t died yet. However, more importantly, I’m trying to balance my daily activities to get enough writing done to satisfy my inner slave driver, and enough physical activity to accomplish my goals for my body. It’s my hope the muse will continue to find and inspire me.
