Last Leaf on the Dogwood

When I wrote about the last leaf on our dogwood tree a few days ago, I had forgotten about the O. Henry story by that title. When I mentioned to Al today that the last leaf was still clinging to that tree, he reminded me of the story, so I looked it up on the web.

Al claims he didn’t fasten that leaf to our tree, but we’ve had a lot of wind and rain, so I think I’ll go out and check it tomorrow.

I still haven’t found my flash drive and yesterday I put some frozen yogurt in the refrigerator instead of in the freezing compartment above. When we came back from dinner last night it was pretty soupy. Luckily, the carton wasn’t leaking.

We had a very enjoyable dinner last night with my children and their spouses. They will come over here tomorrow for another visit to help brighten up dismal January. The birthday boy’s dog will come along to add to the festivities.

I shall dance through the house with my feather duster before I go to bed tonight, then touch up tomorrow. The leaf is in the table and the chairs are gathered around.
