A Taller MonitorAl was taking measurements to construct a platform for my computer monitor when a light bulb snapped on in my head. Since I’m using phone books as a temporary measure to achieve the best height for my posture, I could just fancy them up a little and continue to use them. So we taped two books together and I wrapped them like a gift- wrapped package using an old chiffon scarf--custom made elevation. After I sacrificed the scarf, which I haven’t worn in years, it occurred to me that I could have used fancy paper. However, the scarf is less likely to slide around on the desk. This might not work for all monitors, but mine has a round base that fits securely on top of the phone books. It’s warming up and has thawed where we are. There are probably still icy areas, especially closer to the Columbia Gorge where my daughter and son-in-law live. A weather gal said this morning that her rain gauge showed one-tenth of an inch of rain fell yesterday. It froze as it came down and crippled this area for miles around. After I figure out what to fix for dinner, prepare it and share it, I’ll tackle downloading files from the flash drive to the notebook computer. I’ve always been a night person, so am usually more productive between six or seven p.m. and midnight. My comprehension doesn’t seem to improve at any time of day lately, just my ambition. Feel free to use my idea for a monitor elevator. I doubt that it’s worthy of a patent. It’s a good way to recycle phone books, anyway. < < back |
