Visitors

We have a house full of two grandchildren of Al’s and their dad, his oldest son. They brought CD’s full of old family pictures which have been scanned to help preserve them. Al is enjoying the slide shows.

The girls are being kept up past their usual bedtime in the hope they may sleep in. They are delighted to get to sleep on mattresses on the living room floor. For a number of years I’ve packed around a pair of ugly foam chairs which open flat to become sleeping pads. The two placed side-by-side form an undersized double bed.

The girls are fun to watch, for a while. I grew up with three sisters, so I can still remember sibling rivalry and tattling.

As I’ve often observed before, it would be wonderful to be able to get energy transfusions from active children who seem to have more than enough to share. But I’m sure I’ll sleep well tonight.
