Magic of the SunToday was a lovely, sunny, blue-sky day. A bit chilly, but the sun streaming in the living room windows warmed my recliner while I read the Sunday funnies and watched the not-so-funny news. The sun worked its magic on me and I feel better today than I have for several days. I planted the little bag of daffodil bulbs that had been hiding in a corner of a shed all winter. They have sprouts about three inches long. I put them in planters where they?ll be warmer and I can move them around for color where it’s needed later. Al replanted the forgotten gladiolus bulbs yesterday. If they bloom this year, it will be quite late, I’m sure, but better late than never. While looking for a poem I wrote about fourteen years ago, I discovered that a lot of my hundreds of poems have fallen out of my computer. Probably a few didn’t get transferred each time I loaded a new computer. When something comes up, I can usually remember writing a poem about a particular subject, but can’t remember the title, which I need to find it on the computer. Fortunately, I printed a number of them several years (and about two computers) ago and filed them alphabetically by title. It would have been smarter to file by subject, but I am a creature of habit. The trip down memory lane through all the printed poems was nostalgic and a bit teary. I did find several I was looking for, as well as some misfiled stories that will help trigger memories for my memoirs. Now my task, if I decide I’m up to it, will be to compare the printed poems with the poems index in the computer. If I want the missing ones back in there, I’ll have to keyboard them in. My scanner doesn’t do text. I guess I’ll think about that for a while.
A cluster of pink clouds behind naked tree branches is distracting me. I think we will have a colorful sunset. I do enjoy those.
