Little Old Lady Out of a JobI just visited with my little neighbor across the street. She has been out of a job since the end of last year. After spending several weeks with her daughter and son-in-law, she is actively seeking employment. When she called the employment office, a man who answered asked her date of birth. When she told him 1918, he started laughing so hard he could no longer continue the conversation. She had to give up on him. She assures every one who asks that she has plenty of energy and not enough to do. I don’t doubt that for a minute. Her house is always tidy, as is her yard. She does get some help with weed pulling, mostly to help out the relative who does the work for her.
Eva (not her real name) has amazing spirit and stamina. I’ll not be a bit surprised if she finds a job and goes to work every day until her last one.
