Writing

Writing class was extremely enjoyable this afternoon. There was enough time for all of us to share a bit of our writing and critique each other’s work. Our instructor critiques also, and will write a one-sentence comment on each contribution.

A poem I wrote a month ago was discussed and good feedback given to a question I had about specific wording. Sometimes just a little tweak is all a poem needs to bring it to near perfection. I plan to enter this particular poem in a contest. There are a couple of others I may send along also. Just once I’d like to get better than Honorable Mention in a national contest.

I shared a website I located that has huge amounts of information about the 1930’s with several writers in my class who want to familiarize themselves with slang and expressions of that era for writing dialogue in fiction or memoirs.

Tonight or early tomorrow, I should get a link put on my website to Chapter One of Find Romance in Later Life. I think the chapter is now formatted properly and will be very easy to read.
