That Little Black Cloud

Those of us who remember Al Capp’s Li’l Abner comic strip can recall one of his characters, who traveled with a black cloud above his head. His name was Joe Btsflpk (or something similar) and he would not have had any luck at all except for bad luck.

Every once in a while I have a day like all of his days seemed to be. Yesterday was such a day. Today is somewhat better, but I am still frustrated trying to smooth out computer glitches.

When I decided to write to amuse myself in my retirement, I had no idea I’d have to either hire or become a computer guru, to keep out of trouble.

I have become paranoid, imagining all these sinister plots to keep us purchasing software with holes in it, then patching them, and buying more software to kill infections. It’s not difficult to set up such a scenario in an imaginative mind.

The weather was pleasant today and a drive in the country helped heal my bruised psyche. Tomorrow is another day, and this computer isn’t old enough to take a hammer to, yet.
