Reflections

Last night I wrote a sparkling piece for the blog and my computer ate it. This hasn’t happened to me in many years. When I clicked on Save, it disappeared. No amount of struggling could retrieve it. So, since it was nearly midnight, I went to bed and forgot about it.

Today, because of the drought conditions, Al dug out the sprinkling system from its winter wrappings. I knew that if we got some water on newly moved plants, a deluge would arrive tomorrow. Rain is predicted beginning at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow and continuing for days.

The memorial service tomorrow will be inside a church, but we will probably travel to it in the rain. It will be good to see my children, even on such a sad occasion.

Fifty-four years ago I married the man who will be remembered tomorrow. Forty-four years ago I divorced him. After our daughter was raised, we remained friendly, from a distance.

Tonight is a time for reflection and remembrance.

Tomorrow I’ll share some of our future travel plans. A very old desire of mine is about to be fulfilled.
