Writers’ Faire

Next Tuesday, October 5th, Willamette Writers and Oregon Writers’ Colony are co-sponsoring a giant book signing event at the Portland Armory on 33rd Avenue, near Marine Drive. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m.

This is pretty exciting for tadpoles such as myself, because there will be a number of internationally famous authors signing their books, as well as others like me who are not so well known. A raffle will be held with the prize being an hour with your favorite author. The winner will be awarded $10.00 coffee money to spend while chatting with a special author of his or her choice.

Last year I only sold one book at this event, but the networking was invaluable. I think the location last year was part of the problem. This year there promises to be more space and a much better parking situation. I’m looking forward eagerly to meeting many fascinating people, including some of my readers.
