Rainy Days are Here Again

Two cloudy, showery days are gone already and I haven’t done half the things I’d hoped to. I did get my filing caught up. That’s always a good feeling and helps find paperwork.

I should get an oil change and have the tires rotated on my car. Tomorrow, maybe. I also need to get another tomato planted--not easy to do without a shovel to our name. Maybe we can take turns digging with a trowel. I’m certainly not going to buy and store a shovel to use once or twice a year. I have one plant in a pot and want to put this Early Girl in the ground, since I don’t have any big pots left.

We’ve been on a reading and watching movies binge the last few weeks. Between several libraries available to us, there’s an endless source of books, CD’s and VCR tapes.

I’ve been neglecting my writing and it’s bugging me. There are a few verses lying around here that I’ve written recently that could possibly be contest-worthy. That’s another good rainy-day project. And the memoir stories are begging to be continued.

Today I worked on a new format for business cards. I’ve been out of those for some time so I need to get an order in soon. Actually, I should have ordered them weeks ago. But, better now than never.

I finished an Evanovich novel today. It’s classified as a mystery, but I say it’s a fantasy when the protagonist lives on donuts, beer, pizza and ice cream, and weighs 127 pounds at 5’7”. I’m catching up on books and movies that I didn’t see while I was working, studying, volunteering and writing. Retirement is great!
