Get to Work

Eyes are growing bleary from hours at the keyboard today. I don’t push myself like that very often anymore, but I got behind on emails from family, friends and other writers. We are taking a day off to spend in the sun tomorrow, even though I’m not yet caught up. Priorities rule and we haven’t had enough sun yet this year to waste a single day.

Fascinating opportunities are offered by other writers to contribute to their books. Since I’m such a poor marketer of my own, probably input to other writers’ books can be really important.

A book coming out this fall with a working title of There Is Life After Fifty (that may be the actual title, I’m not sure) will have a section written by me. One of my sisters may contribute also, as well as one or more friends of mine.

I just learned today that a writing instructor at Clark College in Vancouver is asking for submissions from senior writers about what they would like to find in a book about writing. If I can focus and find the time to contribute, I’d like to do so.

And my ongoing project--memoirs, is impatiently waiting for more of my attention.

Symptoms of hay fever or a cold have been slowing me down and I hope the sun tomorrow will dry up my head (head only, not my brain).
