Aloha Day is Coming

Tomorrow will be our last full day on Maui. Floyd plans to drive to Poli Poli Park to watch paragliders early in the morning. I may or may not go along, depending on how I feel. My stomach pulled a number at lunchtime today, so my lunch is still sitting in a “doggy” box in the refrigerator. We had returned to the Maui Plantation for their huge sandwich plates. Floyd nibbled on the remains of his lunch for dinner, but didn’t finish it. I had soup and ice cream and am feeling pretty well now.

This morning I toured the nearby aquarium that is quite spectacular. I think the coral displays are even more striking than the fish.

This afternoon I sent off my contribution to a book with the theme that life gets better after fifty. I’m anxious to hear back from the writer who’s putting it together and, sooner or later, to actually get the book.

There is a new, completely blank guest book on the coffee table in this unit. I guess it will be appropriate for the former owner of the apartment to make the first entry. I need to figure out how to describe our visit and possibly fill the first page or pages.

We seem to be using up most of the groceries we purchased here. Therefore, we shouldn’t waste much food if we have to throw out a bit when we leave. I can pack the rest of the mint tea bags in my suitcase and make my clothes smell “minty clean.”

Wednesday afternoon we board the plane in time to leave at 3:00 p.m. Maui time and arrive at PDX at 11:15 p.m. Portland time. We get to drive home from the airport with all the Halloween witches.

Happy Halloween to all who read this.
