Time for ExerciseThis morning I went to the Sherwood YMCA where my health insurer is paying for a membership for me. It’s part of their preventive medicine program. I observed the arthritis exercise class in the swimming pool. I plan to attend the class on Wednesday to see if it is more helpful than just swimming, which I prefer to do. I then went to the YMCA at Tualatin to leave my medical information and find out about their Silver Sneakers exercise class, which is in the afternoon. Fortunately, I’m allowed to use either facility and both are near where I live. The Sherwood Silver Sneakers class is at 8:30 a.m. I’m rarely out of bed at that hour. Arthritis has been bugging me recently as another birthday approaches. Fortunately, my fingers are still very nimble, even though a couple are deformed. More exercise for the body attached to the fingers seems to be in order. I’m hopeful that starting in March will give me a boost so I won’t quit. This time of year is probably when many of the New Year’s Resolution hopefuls are beginning to drop out. Since we’ll be having out-of-town company this weekend, I started picking up and putting away out-of-place items around the house. Mopping, vacuuming and dusting I’ll save for the last day or two. I look forward to the visit from a sister and her husband and oldest daughter. The couple will stay in their R.V. and my niece and her kitten will stay with us. We will all attend the dinner celebrating my son and his wife’s first wedding anniversary on Sunday. They had no reception or celebration of the wedding, so her family has arranged a private dinner at a small local French restaurant. It should be great fun.
I hope to get some more writing done between now and then.
