A Belated CelebrationYesterday, March 20th, on the 97th anniversary of my father’s birth, we celebrated my son’s first wedding anniversary. They kept their marriage last year a secret for several months, so there was no reception or celebration then. His bride’s family chose to celebrate the first anniversary and arranged a lovely dinner party at a French restaurant in the Pearl District. Approximately 40 to 50 relatives and friends of the couple gathered there. The very convivial celebration lasted about three hours. Champagne was poured for all about 3:30 and the bride’s father toasted the couple as the soup was being served about 4:00 p.m. The food was delightful, the wine was excellent, the room was beautifully decorated and a good time was had by everyone I talked to. One of my sisters came down from Seattle with her husband Saturday and spent two nights in their R.V. in a nearby park. My niece, the daughter, drove down Sunday and met us at the restaurant. She and her kittie cat stayed with us last night. We had good visits with all of them. I took more than two-dozen snapshots for the relatives who couldn’t be there and most of them turned out well. I sent copies by email tonight.
And, now, tomorrow I need to get back to my exercise class and my writing. The trees and the flowers are blooming, we had a little sunshine today, so I should be inspired.
