New Vista

Maybe I’ve actually found the instructions for moving files taken off my old computer via a CD into the appropriate places on the new computer. I’m afraid to try it out for fear it won’t work. I keep hearing such bad things about Vista. I love the way everyone tells you how terrible something is after you’ve already bought it. I’ve decided I’m going to like it in spite of the naysayers. I’ve already determined that some processes are less cumbersome than with XP. And, besides, I went to high school with Bill Gates mother, who seemed to be a nice girl, although I didn’t really know her.

This has been such an enjoyable afternoon, I don’t want to spoil it with any disappointment. In front of the fire, I watched the figure skating championship program while I enjoyed my lunch of left over stew. There was some great skating by tiny teeny-boppers. It’s heartening to realize how hard those kids work to get where they are. Their athleticism is more of an inspiration, in my opinion, than many of the characters who toss balls around, especially those who toss laws around.

It occurred to me to wonder today if South Carolina gets a better turnout at the polls by holding their primary on a Saturday. Rushing to the polls before or after work was a hassle for me for years. Eventually, I switched to absentee ballots. I’m already tired of the upcoming election. I definitely favor the idea of limiting the length of campaigns, as well as the amounts that can be spent. However, I doubt that any such actions will occur anytime soon.
