Hitting Potholes

The bumpy road to transition from my old and ailing desktop computer to its sleek new successor seems to be full of potholes. However, I’m still managing to enjoy all the advantages of the newer model. Most of the obstacles I created, some long ago, by my lack of computer knowledge and experience. Certainly I’ll get good brain exercise trying to work around or correct some of those problems. The list is long and boring, but if I succeed with some or all of them, I may brag on my blog.

I’m very grateful for the good help I’m getting from my young relatives who are brighter and more knowledgeable. I’d never make it without the advice and assistance of my son-in-law and my son.

In my next life, perhaps I’ll be born computer savvy or, at least, with more mechanical and mathematical aptitude. A sense of direction would be helpful, also.

Meanwhile, I hope to spend some time working on my writing today while the Super Bowl game is on in the other room. It will be good to get some time off from the transition activities. Tuesday is another critique group meeting and I want to have something ready to share with my helpful peers.

Thursday Richard will come over to help me move pictures from one computer to another. I have most documents moved already, and backed up on CD’s as well. Time to attack a few chores and then get to work writing.
