Buried Treasure

While sorting through backup diskettes, zip drive files and CD’s, I discovered a backup CD that a computer repair facility had made for me when the hard drive crashed on my old laptop computer. Somehow, when I transferred files from that old laptop to my desktop and notebook computers, some of the files slipped through the cracks and I thought they were gone.

But, I captured them and copied all files on the backup CD to both computers, then I began deleting the ones I don’t need any more. I may have misjudged. It might have been faster to choose the ones I do need and copied only those. I left all the old files on the CD just in case I missed something important that I may need later.

It is good to have all that old writing now that I’m working on memoirs, even though sorting through those files is tedious. It’s also fun to see what I was thinking and working on ten or fifteen years ago.

The rainy weather we’ve needed so badly is here and makes it less of a problem to stay inside and work on the computer.

At this moment a few rays of the setting sun are peeking through clouds and reflecting on water that’s collected on tree branches. Those spots sparkle like ice.
