Final Post Surgery Report

Today was the last post-operative visit and all is going well. Healing is progressing as expected. I was given final instructions on how to taper off the eye drops and to wear the eye patch for three more nights.

Then there are various dates for when I can return to swimming and the hot tub, get new eyeglasses, etc.

Doing the other eye is not possible for a while. It may be four to six months or longer before the cataract becomes a big enough problem to justify the surgery.

So, next, I go for a string of blood tests and evaluation by my primary care physician. When that is over, I may get a rest from dealing with medics for some time.

I hope that soon my eyes will track together well enough to concentrate on some writing. They may work better without the ill-fitting glasses that I can’t replace for a few weeks when the healing is complete.
