No Snow HereWe have no snow here, yet, but the threat is not over until Noon tomorrow according to the weather forecasters. But it is cold—very cold for this late in the year. My sisters in Seattle have about three inches of snow on the ground, and my third sister, in Southern California, reports it turned cold there this morning. Brrr! I’ll be heading for the warm pool and the hot tub shortly. I spent most of the afternoon sleeping through movies. I did manage to stay awake for one old movie. I finished the murder mystery book yesterday and am now reading an adventure story, actually several stories collected in one book, about young men who wandered off into the wilderness. Most were ill equipped, physically and mentally, and did not return. Sad, but probably not as sad as the stories of young lives that are being snuffed out by drugs. I am surrounded by unfinished chores. This last week it seems I don’t have much ambition to tackle anything that can wait until later. So I am pretty much a machine operator—washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. In my old age I’ve become much more tolerant of a cluttered desk and a certain amount of clutter scattered here and there around the homestead. Our recycling removers have added more items to their acceptable list, so now we have stacks and sacks of assorted discards in the laundry closet until they are carried out weekly. Fortunately, there is space for them and it reduces the amount of garbage we send to the landfill, which helps my conscience.
The blue sky and white clouds are being swallowed up by gray clouds; maybe I should get on my way to the pool.
