Computer Spring Cleaning

For several days I’ve been cleaning out files in this computer, a boring, but necessary task. With over 100,000 files to deal with, it seems as if it is never ending.

It is my hope that it will be easier to find a specific file, if this project ever is completed.

It boggles my mind how much I have written in the last fifteen years. I wonder if writers of magazine articles recognize all their writing when they go back through it. I don’t remember all of mine. Fortunately, I put my name on what I write so that I won’t confuse it with others’ writing that I save from time to time.

Once in a while I find an interesting gem that I’d forgotten about. That spurs me to continue on.

Unfortunately I didn’t contain all the files pertaining to my books in individual folders for each book. It would have been much easier to do as I went along. Now I know better and will be more organized in the future. Scooping up all those files and getting them together is very time consuming.

Meeting an old friend for lunch tomorrow will be a fun distraction and should energize me to finish this arduous task
