Time to Buy Kleenex Stock

I just read a blogger’s comment that this election may make him cry. I think there may be a lot of that going around before, during and long after the election. There hasn’t been a lot to smile about the last eight years and it would be nice to think that could change. But hope does not spring eternal in this old, experienced citizen.

Today I spent several hours printing and assembling poems for a possible chapbook. The contest I want to enter had a deadline, I thought, of September 22nd. I just realized yesterday that the actual date is September 2nd. I doubt if I can get it ready by then, but I’ll give it a shot. Tomorrow I’ll decide exactly which poems to use and in what order to place them. Then I’ll need to make up a cover page and an acknowledgement page for those that have been previously published. And so I labor on this Labor Day weekend.

Monday I think we will play and collect some free meals while socializing. I hope the weather will be pleasant. Temperatures seem to be dropping prematurely as August ends.

I have a meeting this week to learn more about a medical study I’ve agreed to participate in. More about that when I know more.
