Winter’s BackOn this chilly, windy, drizzly day with a few claps of thunder thrown in, it was good to be able to be inside looking out at all the activity. At least, I took time to look out the windows while the computers were shut down during the brief electrical storm. Most of the day I spent at the computer. I have all my homework done now for the rest of this term of Creative Writing. Next week I have some medical tests, then I’ll begin getting organized for our cruise to Alaska in mid May. My usual m.o. is to have one piece of luggage on wheels and one brief case or tote bag. I’m not sure I can get enough warm clothes in those two pieces for this trip. Maybe I’ll just pile the leftovers on my back while we walk from the car to the ship in Seattle. Saturday of this week will be a fun poetry day. Oregon State Poetry Association’s Spring Conference at Marylhurst College in West Linn is always enjoyable. I hope to get into an open mike reading and share a few new poems. I haven’t done much with poetry in the last several years, but am getting involved again now.
One poetry contest entry is ready to mail tomorrow morning after exercise class. I can’t send the other one until I get an answer to my email question about their rules. I may possibly rewrite a memoir essay to send along with the poetry. Cold weather does inspire me to stay in my nice warm chair and put words on the screen.
