It’s That (Tax) Time Again

Since my taxes were mailed three days or so ago, I can go to bed early and sleep well tonight. I have already kissed my money goodbye and know I won’t like how it’s spent. But I’ve had a lot of years to get used to that idea.

Usually I only rise at the crack of dawn or before to catch a flight to some place exciting. But tomorrow the excitement will be closer to home. A poetry conference will be my destination. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve attended any writing gatherings, except the PCC class I take here in Tigard.

I’m looking forward to renewing some old acquaintances and meeting some new poets, or ones I haven’t met before. I will have an opportunity to display, and possibly sell, some of my books. That adds to the attraction, for me.

So, I’m off to bed, to sleep, perchance to dream, hopefully not about the IRS.
