Brief Updates

Today was tune-up day. After a chiropractic adjustment and a haircut, I had a chilly swim. The water was wonderfully warm, but I had to stay submerged and moving because the breeze was cool.

My web master is working on adding a Contests page to my website, that lists current writing contests. We will keep you posted as that project progresses.

A brand new magazine in Sweden, called Outercast has put out a call for submissions. The theme for their first issue is “childhood.” Since I’m writing memoirs, I may send in a story. They solicit email submissions and pay by PayPal. The deadline for their first issue is June 1, 2005. Their Guidelines can be accessed at: http://www.outercast.com/submissions.html

Our granddog, Handsome, will have surgery for melanoma tomorrow. We are hoping that when the tiny lump on his lip is removed that will be the end of it. I’ve never heard of an animal getting skin cancer before. He is a big, lovable critter and a favorite with our entire extended family.
