Home AgainBack to the mundane, we returned home to discover a portion of the back lawn was a marsh. Al checked our sprinkler system out for possible leaks and found none. The park manager had told me there are many leaks in the ancient water system, so we let them know one of them may be under our lawn. I’m not looking forward to having the lawn dug up, or even worse the flowerbed, but nothing will happen on this holiday weekend. Today I cleaned out email files and organized saved writing newsletters for future reference. Now I’m ready to get back to work on my memoirs. A more detailed log of our cruise will be put together first (before I forget all of it) and posted on the travel page of my website. A quiet three-day weekend at home will be perfect for those activities. Housecleaning must wait for cooler days. Walking barefoot on cool grass and watering are hot-day delights. This has been a hot one, over 90 degrees.
The PCC writing class I’ve been taking will be meeting without an instructor over the summer. Many of us wanted to continue as a critique group until classes resume in the fall. We will get together every other week. That way we will not lose our motivation or continuity. I’ll need to prepare something to read next Wednesday.
