A Lazy Saturday

We have some pretty laid back parties in this senior mobile home park. Today we had a “Too Tired” luncheon. Some people wore their nightclothes and left their hair uncombed. One gal in flannel pajamas pasted corn plasters under her eyes to look like bags. She won a prize, of course. Al and I thought we looked tired enough without any props. I didn’t think of it soon enough, but I could have done a Pearl Bailey imitation, kicking off shoes, etc.

Other than that slightly unusual event, today was a pretty ordinary Saturday. I did some reading, hemmed the sleeves on a cotton jacket, and had a great swim. I still intend to get some writing done tonight.

When planning our Fall trip, we talked about how we look for special places to sightsee when we’re traveling. However, we don’t seem to get to very many of the local attractions, such as the Spruce Goose, the McLoughlin house in Oregon City, the Pittock Mansion and others. A trip to Portland was one of the prizes on Wheel of Fortune tonight. I haven’t seen that happen before.

Time to get to work.
