Saturday Routine

This was the kind of Saturday I had when I was working. I did a couple of loads of laundry, had a swim, cleared and rearranged files on my notebook computer and read a bit in the New Yorker. Either I’m getting old, crotchety, and more picky, or the quality of writing and editing has slipped just a little in that magazine. I can’t complain at all about the cartoons. They are still exquisite.

Every time I walked through the living room I watched a few minutes of Book TV. I really enjoy that on the weekends.

We received our confirmation of travel for the cruise and I was able to locate our cabin number in the deck layout of the ship. It will be equally close to a pool on the same deck and the buffet on the deck just above us. There are four pools on the ship and the ones that are in the center are usually most popular, so I may have a chance to actually swim in the one on our deck. On the last cruise, we were at the other end of the ship from that pool and the buffet, a very long walk.

After I fell, on the second day, I couldn’t swim anyway with a bandage on my knee and another on my lip. Of course, it didn’t hinder my eating much.

We plan to go see Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose in McMinnville tomorrow. I hope the weather holds long enough for that. It can rain in the evening, so we don’t have to water.
