Get to Work, GalIt’s pretty sad when my motivation for housecleaning depends on whether or not I’ll have visitors in the near future. Since that doesn’t seem likely at the moment, things are getting rather grungy in the corners. I keep thinking I’ve got to clean the refrigerator and scrub the microwave and the kitchen counters, but I can always think of better things to do. Today it was a shopping trip for a new cordless phone and some other odds and ends such as a printer cartridge. Two older phones have worn out on us in the last few months. The new one is hanging in the kitchen now getting charged up so we can play with it tomorrow. A scratchy throat has kept me out of the swimming pool for several days, so I rode the stationery bike for a bit today. I need to get a more comfortable seat if I want to spend very much time on it.
I need to pick out one of my memoir stories to be critiqued tomorrow afternoon when the writing group meets again. I’ve accumulated a fairly good collection of stories now, but need to do more work on the last 25 years of my life. The first 50 are quite well covered. Maybe more recent happenings will be easier to remember and reconstruct. We’ll see.
