Turn Another Calendar Page

This whole day disappeared while I wandered around on the internet, making reservations for side trips on our cruise, reading blogs, book reviews, etc.

About the only constructive thing I did was check on a neighbor we hadn’t seen all day. The little dark-haired Italian octogenarian, with the snapping black eyes, was fine physically and watching television. She lives across the street from us. Her next-door neighbor was taken to the hospital earlier. Ada has been looking out for her neighbor, who lives alone and is dying of cancer. If this turns out to be a one-way trip for her neighbor, I fear Ada will be devastated. She was quite upset when I talked to her this evening.

The other thing that’s taking up my time is marking a Nielsen rating booklet every time I turn the television on, mostly for news. Once in a while, I watch a favorite show here and there and generally watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune most nights. For my trouble, they sent me two one-dollar bills. Whee! I really don’t mind though, because I get a kick out of polls. I’ve been reading results of them for years, so I guess it’s about time to make a contribution.
