Dredging Up Memories

Another section of my memoirs is taking shape. The writing is not going as quickly as I would like, but the framing of the events is falling into place.

I’m not sure if two days of serious indigestion is related to bringing back old unpleasant memories, or the bad barbecue I ate Saturday night. Maybe it’s some of both. At any rate, the stomach situation seems to be improving. I had some chicken broth and soggy biscuits tonight that seemed to help.

I was feeling quite optimistic about how many life stories I’ve written already, until I realized that the part I’m working on now took place in my thirties, over forty years ago. Some of the stories that are completed about other parts of my life run up into my forties, fifties and sixties.

A couple of stories I remember writing, I can’t locate. They may be on old diskettes around here somewhere. Maybe I’ll sort through those while I watch TV some day soon. If there are writings that have disappeared from my computers, I need to locate them while I still have equipment obsolete enough to read diskettes.
