Housecleaning TimeI can’t quite get up the gumption to start fall cleaning on closets, cupboards, etc., much less (ugh) wash windows. So, I’m cleaning up my computer indexes. My sloppy habits had left pictures in the document folders. They have been put in their proper storage folder now. When all goes well, it’s really fun to sit and push buttons and move things around. We will be leaving next Tuesday for Seattle to spend a week with my three sisters. Two of them live there; the third will be flying in from Southern California. We have been getting together annually for several years now. We range in age from mid-60’s to mid-70’s. I am the eldest. We had planned to take our R.V. van, but needed repairs are awaiting parts. One sister in Seattle sweetly invited us to stay with her, so we will do that. I will take my notebook computer and may try to continue Barbara’s Blog while I’m there. We’ll see if that works, or if I even want to take time to experiment with it. I’m really looking forward to our visit, especially because I’m working on my memoir stories and will pick their brains for things I’ve forgotten.
Our youngest sister has enthusiastically embraced genealogy, which is wonderful for the rest of us. She has gathered much of the life history of our paternal grandfather. Most of his life was a mystery to us when he died. As is usually the case, some of what we learned might have been better left buried. But we have a much clearer picture of the man, not just the grandfather, because of her efforts.
