Concessions to AgeFor about ten years now, I’ve had painful feet. This limits the amount of walking I can do. Sometimes it puts a crimp in sightseeing. In Alaska, I sat on a bench in a library while Al toured a museum. I couldn’t take another step without a rest and we still had to walk back to the ship from the top of a long hill. After the rest, I was able to do that. For the trip to Europe, I’ve reluctantly agreed to take a wheelchair along for when my feet give out while sightseeing, or for long walks from one airport concourse to another. We have a chair in good condition that Al’s late wife and his mother both used. This is the first major concession to my age I’ve had to make.
When Al and I took the driving refresher course, the question arose about knowing when it’s time to quit driving. That will be a biggie. Naturally, we’d like to get some road trips in before that day comes. Those plans are on the drawing board.
