Life Happenings

After this afternoon’s critique group meeting, I’m anxious to dig into rewriting a couple of my memoir stories. In particular, I realized how much is missing from the account of my 1998 trip to South Africa. Unfortunately, necessary chores stand in my way, but I hope by Friday to be able to work on those pieces.

Tomorrow I’ll be helping my daughter with unpacking and whatever else needs to be done to complete their move.

This evening we had a legal document signing party at my son and daughter-in-law’s house. She is a paralegal and a notary and helped us wade through piles of papers to get the documents executed that name my health care personal representative and the person I’ve given power of attorney to handle my affairs if I’m unable to do so. My will is not yet in final form so will have to be executed later.

We also had a nice visit with them and their big dog, Handsome, who adores everyone. It is difficult to imagine a 120-pound dog acting cute, but he does. He has his own stuffed puppy that he drags around and cuddles up with.

I take the position that writing a blog gives me permission to make my own rules. Therefore, I allow myself to end sentences with prepositions, but I thought it would be a bit much to end this whole blog entry with a preposition so I added this last paragraph.
