Laundry and Packing

I spent several hours today allegedly helping my daughter with her move. My level of energy does not support miracles these days, so I’m not sure how much my assistance accomplished. Probably the most helpful thing I did was bring home several loads of bedding to be laundered. The washer and dryer are laboring as I write. It’s a fairly comfortable cool evening, so the extra heat in the house is not a problem.

It did not please me to read that there are labor problems at Heathrow Airport where we will be landing next Wednesday night or Thursday morning, their time. This is their busiest month of the year, according to what I read, so any glitches create a mess. We sure know how to pick a time to go to London.

Al is practicing to see how much he can get into one bag. I am mentally sorting what I will take in my wheeled duffel bag. I will also have a tote bag for my purse, camera, and other little items. This will be the longest trip we’ve attempted with that small amount of luggage. It’s so much easier to be able to keep your bags with you, than to be anxiously hunting for them on arrival.

It’s not necessary to have a big variety of clothes when you’ll be in a different city every day. There are more than 2,000 people on the ship, so it’s not likely they will be noticing what other passengers are wearing, even if they happen to see the same people more than once.
