To Grandparent or Not

Today I wrote a list. I’ll probably turn it into an article. It’s titled: Ten Reasons to be Happy About Not Being a Grandmother.

Each year I grow older, it becomes more likely that I will never be a grandparent. I’ve decided to look on the bright side of that situation. Therefore, I’ve enumerated good reasons not to have grandchildren.

Don’t misunderstand me; I think children can be adorable. They can also be monsters.

Al’s great-grandson is really cute, and with two very intelligent parents, will probably be quite smart also. I’m enjoying being an honorary great-grandmother to him and loving the pictures we get via email.

Most of his grandchildren are pretty well grown. The two youngest visit us occasionally with their dad and I enjoy their visits.

All three of my sisters have grandchildren and I am thrilled to see them when I have the chance. They all live quite far away, however.

On a different subject, I have posted another travel journal page about our trip to Paris on the recent cruise. Click on the Travel Log link on the left side of this page to find it. When I finish with this cruise, I may go back and write up the places we saw on the Alaska cruise. While I’m on a roll, that is.
