Neighborhood ChangesLast week the walls were vibrating on the house next door with loud rock music in the middle of the night. Tonight the place is empty. No people are there anyway. There is still junk scattered through the rooms. The carport was cleaned up today. Several truckloads of stuff were hauled away. No one seems to be sure what happened, but there is speculation that financial problems were involved. If so, I’m not surprised. We probably spend less on groceries than they spent on cigarettes. I don’t wish anyone ill will, but I’m not sorry those neighbors are gone. At least not yet. I’m still hopeful that new neighbors will be more enjoyable. It will be a while before anyone moves in there, however, because there is a lot of work to be done. Cleaning and probably paperwork, also, will take time. The new buyer of the house directly across the street from the vacant one next door will probably be moved in sooner. There is always some trepidation about having new people around, but sometimes they turn out to be good friends. That would be nice. Last night I finished writing up our last trip. I brought us back across the Atlantic to New York and back home. That account has been added to the travel pages on my web site.
The next few days I need to get my laptop ready for our trip to California. I hope to be able to hook up and make some blog entries on the road. We’ll see how it goes.
