Scrabble Games and Scrambled FilesI was hoping for some sun today, but it didn’t even peek out in time to set. Even when it shines this late in the year, it doesn’t dry the grass out much. I like to stretch out in a recliner with the sun beating on me through the window and nap. Couldn’t do that today. Anyway, I needed to practice Scrabble some more. Playing with crossword puzzle experts is difficult. They come up with obscure words that can trick me into giving up my turn in order to challenge them. At least one of my sisters fits this description, and Al certainly does. I had a good head start on our first game this afternoon and then it all fell apart. To my delight, I discovered this afternoon that my flash drive does indeed contain all the files on my Word indexes, at least all that were there a couple of weeks ago when I plugged it in. Although they are all lumped together in one alphabetical list, at least they are there. If I can continue to keep the list current, it will be a good backup and, when I’m home, I’ll keep it in the safe. I was surprised to read recently that listening to books while driving is considered as much of a distraction as talking on a cell phone. Driving to Seattle by myself is pretty boring. I’ve seen that same scenery too many times. It is a little more colorful this time of year with the leaves changing color. However, since I’m somewhat past middle age, I guess I’ll skip the books on tape and try to stay out of the way of the crazy drivers. < < back |
