Memories - Sad and GladThe silly looking little paperclip icon on my Word program sits around rolling his eyes and can’t keep track of the date. The program tried to date this November 26th. What a drag! Time is passing by quickly and the first anniversary of the death of my very close friend Shirley is approaching. I was poignantly reminded of that fact tonight when I read another blog entry that was a tribute to the writer’s late best friend. Even though Shirley and I didn’t see each other often, we talked by email and exchanged pictures regularly. I still feel her absence strongly. Today I worked on the travel report of our recent trip to California, off and on. I took time out to watch a movie on TV, something I very seldom do, because there are so few movies that hold my interest. I like Diane Keaton and enjoyed her performance, even though the story was not much. The name of it was something like The Only Thrill. I also dozed a couple of times for a few minutes. I missed the weather report on the news with a snooze. After I printed the California trip report, I realized I hadn’t described Scotty’s Castle at Death Valley at all. That will take some concentration. Our visits to two different ghost towns didn’t get in either, so it’s back to the drawing board (or keyboard, that is). I may quit the writing for today, and see if Al wants to play cards.
Because of sinus problems, I still won’t be able to swim tomorrow, so I can sit and write. Maybe Tuesday, I can get back to the pool.
