Blowin’ in the Wind

Today the East wind blew the chill factor to around 30 degrees. I ran some errands without a hat and regretted that decision. I did find my leather gloves, but they didn’t seem to keep my hands warm. My Cuddle Duds long johns under wool slacks kept my legs comfortable outdoors.

Right now, I’m feeling toasty in front of my computer with an electric heater warming my legs and feet.

In order to get more writing done, I’ve come to the conclusion I need to cut down on my reading, especially of writing ezines and miscellaneous emails. It’s difficult for my curious self to just hit the delete button without looking at what’s there, unless it’s obvious spam. All my life I’ve had a compulsion to read every bit of print I spot. (cereal boxes, etc.) The current popular phrase, “Get over it,” is an oversimplification at best.

Probably a lot of what I read would best be disposed of by “blowin’ in the wind." Deleting jokes is getting much easier for me, especially when so many of them go around for years. Every once in a while I get a good healthy belly laugh from one I’ve not heard before or forgotten, if I’ve heard it.

Note to computer keyboard designers: The delete key should be the biggest one and conspicuously located in the same spot on every keyboard.
