Virtual Trips

Al’s sister Charlotte came over this morning with a CD full of pictures of her trip through the Holy Land. We learned a little about manipulating pictures from watching her in action at this computer. We also enjoyed some terrific photographs of places I’ve never been. Some of them Al has been to, some not. I marveled at her memory, being able to identify each location as we saw them. She shared a lunch of leftovers with us and then left for an appointment.

Later this afternoon, after a nap, I tackled the Whirlwind Trip Through California travel journal. I revamped parts of it, added some highlights I’d omitted, and generally revised the document. Now it’s ready for the critique group to help fine-tune the writing.

I’m anxious to dig into more ancient memoirs again. Some of my ideas about how much to include have changed. Tell-all is not the theme I’m striving for, so I need to filter and decide how much information will be relevant for readers and not embarrassing for living relatives and friends.

I’m finding more blogs to read and compare to learn how I can improve mine and also get a feel for what other writers reveal.
